May 2008

I’m beginning to think I have ADD … actually, I’ve suspected this all along.  I cannot hold still long enough and constantly try new things.  My trouble is I’m juggling a full time job, three kids ranging in ages of 11 months to 5 years to 19 years.  Okay, the 19 year old helps a ton!

On top of trying Murad, I took a chance and I know I shouldn’t but tried the drug called rimonabant but ordered it from an Indian pharmacy (unknown it was in India until I received it).  Apparently it’s sold under the name of Slimona but has rimonabant stamped on the blister pack.  What is probaby special about this drug in terms of why you can get it from India is it’s an over the counter drug (OTC) and costs under a quarter per tablet.  So when the online pharmacies are charging in excess of a hundred per “prescription,” they are making a huge profit.  I was very leary given it was an overseas place and did my research to see if others had used this place and this drug and others had.  I know it’s not the smartest thing to do but I did it anyway.

I took it today and my hunger isn’t as strong as normal but that could be due to a variety of different reasons and a few hours is too early to know.  However, rimonabant is approved in European countries in a prescription form (20 mg) and has proven to help in weight loss in thie obese although suicidal tendencies and depression have been reported.  Perhaps these people were already depressed .. not sure.  The FDA has not approved this in the US for that very reason.

I will attempt to start using exercise with the regiment of the pills.  I have been exercising for the past few months just infrequent due to tiredness and other demands.

UPDATE:

I actually became a little nervous trying a pill that was received from India.  Not a problem coming from India so to speak but not knowing what their drug regulations are, I was worried about the safety.  The blister packs looked identical to any picture I could find on the net but then I know these copycat drug businesses can do a lot to make a pill look like the real deal.

I ended up taking them and found I was getting headaches.  Similar response to phentermine.  I didn’t notice any real boost in energy or my appetite being curbed.  The nasty side effects are suicidal thoughts which is why the FDA has not approved it in the US.  This drug is available in Europe and is an OTC in India.

I’ve tried Alli but all that does is take the oil out of your food as there is no effect on curbing your appetite nor any energy boost.

So far, phentermine works the best from a prescription standpoint but unless you are obese, you can’t get it.  My best diet advice as I lost 40 pounds in one year post pregnancy, exercise and watch those calories.  Atkins is a good one too if you can stomach the plan.  I always lose 20 lbs in the first two weeks but I also attribute it to lack of calories as the food is such a turn off especially if you are a repeat Atkins dieter.  I’m one of those people who have always had to watch the weight and the struggles of weight loss are enormous especially in today’s soceity where size 5 is fat and size 0 is in.

I finally picked a product to try after Bellaplex.  I did use Bellaplex for three months and did not notice any differences in my skin.

I’m on week two of Murad’s Resurgence and my skin feels softer and smoother.  I think I’m noticing a difference already with the fine lines under my eyes.  The regiment is easy.  Wash your face, apply a little of the eye serum under the eyes and then apply a coat of the night time repair cream.  The bottles are really small but the amounts go a long way.  I have no idea if it will last until the next shipment.

The costs is $39.95 plus %6.95 for shipping with the membership program.  I prefer to have offers that allow you to cancel online but you have to call for this one.  I also bought the acne program for my daughter but it’s too early to note if it’s working.

This is the product endorsed by Joan Lundon.  Here is their “promise:”

Now it’s time to preview another segment of trying to stay young or at least a little better.  You named it, I’ve tried it.  After three children, I struggled with the last two to lose the weight and keep it off.  I tried Weight Watchers (online), Nutrisystem, Slimfast, Atkins, etc etc.  I had success with Slimfast and then they quit making the only shake I liked.  I had success with Atkins a couple of times but the idea of all the meat, eggs and cheese almost makes me sick just typing it.  Nutrisystem was alright but they decided to replace items they no longer had on the initial introductory list to newer, improved ones.  There were over 10 products of ingredients that I don’t even like.  You would have thought they would have looked at your list and at least chosen like products.  The food wasn’t bad but once I ran out of the really good foods that I liked, I lost my passion to continue.

The best diet and everyone touts this is really to eat right and exercise.  I found that I cannot eat full meals and lose weight in spite of including exercise.  The key is to snack on small items such as fruit, vegetables, cheese, crackers, etc and exercise.  I went from 189 in November of 2005 to 145 in Marcy 2006.  I won’t mention that I ended up getting pregnant shortly after so although I’m not quite as large as I was in 2005, I am in need of losing weight again.

My eldest daughter is an inspiration to seek my goals.  Nothing like a slim 20 year old running around in jeans and tank tops to make you see what you don’t have anymore.  I used to find if I perused the television stations since catching images of scantily clad women are a bigger bet than gaining weight eating chocolate, it would also inspire me to not eat as much. Who can eat having a size -0 staring at you with the figure you know you’ll never get?  That’s a whole other issue .. the diminishing sizes and unrealistic expectations the media/Hollywood places on us.

Yesterday was day 1 of beginning the journey again …. weightloss and the fountain of youth for anti-aging.  Anyone want to have a Botox party????  lol

Here is another product that claims via an independent review site that is the best:

FREEZOX is by far the most powerful wrinkle fighting and anti-aging product legally available today. It’s the only product reviewed that received a 100/100 in wrinkle reducing power. If you want to lose your wrinkles as quickly as possible and look like a million dollars, FREEZOX is well worth the money. It would have easily of been the #1 rated anti-aging products if it had not been for it’s below average safety rating. Their have been widespread rumors that FREEZOX contains a topical grade extract of the wrinkle reducing ingredient Botulinum Toxin Type-A (BOTOX®). Having thoroughly reviewed FREEZOX we have found no traces of this substance. FREEZOX does however work faster than any other anti-aging product ever created which leads people to question its ingredients. This literal fountain of youth doesn’t come cheap. A 28.3 gram bottle which lasts 3-4 months costs $579.00.00 USD. There are rumors that FREEZOX will soon be taken off the market so finding bottles in the U.S. is rare and hard to come by.

Thanks Kat for letting me know your results from the other product.  I will definitely try it!

If you live in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia or Wisconsin, there is a special $99 per procedure special for the month of May.

Check out the website for the specials:  http://www.medspamonth.com/medical-spa.htm

Unfortunately, they aren’t available for my state.

I have a friend that has undergone numerous procedures such as microdermabrasion, masks, IPL laser and now she’s trying an experiemental procedure.  She liked the IPL laser but of course, it was costly.  I still prefer botox but question whether or not it’s a requirement to keep using it or suffer the consequences of it’s after effects which you never read about.

Has anyone tried any of the product picks below from http://www.medspamonth.com/skincare40s.htm ?

Filler Up

Injectables have become an easy option for pumping up on the fly. Hundreds of thousands of women of all ages are turning to the industry’s leading injectables – Botox®, Restylane®, Radiesse®, and Juvéderm™ for immediate gratification. Here’s how they stack up…

Botox®: A purified protein produced by the clostridium botulinum bacterium that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines. It is most often used between the eyebrows, the glabellar lines.

Restylane®: A biodegradable dermal filler derived from hyaluronic acid that is most commonly used to fill the glabellar lines, the lips and the nasolabial folds, the lines from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the upper lip.

Radiesse®: A synthetic dermal filler made of calcium hydroxyapatite used for soft tissue augmentation and to treat skin folds and wrinkles mostly nasolabial folds and oral commissures, the lines around the corners of the mouth toward the chin commonly called marionette lines.

Juvéderm™: This hyaluronic acid gel is a dermal filler intended to restore skin volume and smooth away lines mainly the nasolabial folds and oral commissures.

I tried Prevarin, very costly, and it took a few days but it hit me hard.  I looked like I aged 20 years and my face was red.  My eyes looked horrible!  It wore off in a few days but it was really hard to look in the mirror.  My chest broke out as well as I placed a little on the lower neck area.

To date, best improvement was with botox but the wearing off effects are ugly!
